CCET-IEEE Region 5 Announce Winners of Second Annual Contest CCET's President, Dr. Milton Holloway, and IEEE Region 5 Student Activities Coordinator, Dr. Steve Watkins, announced the winners of this year's annual CCET-IEEE student design contest on May 4, 2010. First place and a cash award of $2000 goes to the team from the University of Texas at San Antonio headed by Gerardo Trevino. Second place and a cash award of $500 goes to a team from Lamar University headed by Mike Ward. The 2009-2010 contest sought innovative designs for new and retrofit solar photovoltaic direct current circuits in the home. The annual CCET-IEEE contest accommodates both EE senior design projects, and, in a separate series of awards, graduate student participation. Up to $5000 in total awards are possible. CCET and IEEE will be making structural and topical changes to the 2010-2011 contest. Please watch for these changes in the "News" and the "Rules" section some time after May 1, 2010. |
